    It starts with a solid CV and LinkedIn. Our gold standard is INSEAD or Harvard Business School formats. Clean and confident. Less is more, ClipArt out.


    Our Six Golden Rules

    Momentum

    Your peak is AHEAD of you, not in 2015. You are looking forward-looking and showing momentum. Your last role was your strongest. Learn to let go: high school, year 2000 internship.

    Semantics

    AI creates new jobs/titles that command a premium: GTM, Forward Deployed, Everything Engineer. Your track record doesn’t map cleanly onto new business models until you factor this in. 

    Scan for leadership verbs, attributes, and hard tangibles. 

    Not War & Peace

    A CV’s only call to action is to get you an interview. Keep the juices for later. Unless you are a Nobel Prize laureate, keep it bulleted and on one page (US/execs can be two). Compress/kill early years.

    AI will review your CV

    Make sure that your use of words, titles, and tone of voice match the job desc, culture, and zeitgeist. Yet don’t turn this into AI versus AI: own your story, be yourself, and make your cover a standout.

    It’s only one part of your story

    Your cv is just the start. It is mirrored on LinkedIn and in real life as part of a brand blitz that includes networking, thought leadership, and your reputation with alumni and peers (see next module).

    Classical beauty

    Your CV needs structure, balance, and proportions, Amplify your last role, scale back old ones. It always works. Hack it with optics after a break, if your last role didn’t work out, or if you spent 15 years with the same company.

    LinkedIn: Keep It Simple

    Mirror your cv. Enrich for authority and search optimization: use your headline smartly; add features; build leadership; don’t be a HR liability; dress for your industry (drop that tie). NO #opentowork.
