Growth is not the goal yet. Getting your commercial foundations right is. Apply design thinking to your business model, iterate with discipline, and build systems that hold up before you scale them.

    Adjusting to an entrepreneurial life is daunting. Everyone picks up an outreach from Meta, it is frustrating when no one knows about your business. Be resilient, and build strong systems. Iterate, don’t obsess with growth (yet), just get all the systems right.

    Keep it simple. Using our own method, all our systems are interconnected and subject to frequent iterations: website (Squarespace), events (Luma), newsletter (Ghost), payments (Stripe), Calendly - with all the playbooks and decks running on Google Drive, and the odd productivity software (Docusign, Docsend). That’s all.

    Portfolio: Pricing Yourself

    If you follow the 4 steps - setup, brand systems, commercial systems, AI  stack - you’ll be in a strong position. Income is always a sensitive topic, and the salary you leave behind is often irrelevant. Consider four broad frameworks, all stackable, for your portfolio of economic activity:

    • Monetize your old skills smartly: as a contractor/consultant

    • Retrain for something new (at what the market pays)

    • Build a standalone brand (B2C or B2B)

    • Branch out: volunteer, join a board, or work for equity
